Australian Mining Company Discovers Large-Scale High-Grade Fluorite Ore, Reshaping the Global Fluorite Trade Pattern

On May 15, an Australian mining company announced the discovery of large-scale high-grade fluorite resources in the Yinnetharra mining area. The preliminary estimated resource reserve reaches millions of tons, with an average grade of 85%-92%. The ore has low arsenic and low iron content, fully meeting the standards of acid-grade and metallurgical-grade fluorite. The mining area is close to coastal ports with convenient transportation and low logistics costs. It is scheduled to be put into operation in 2027, with an annual output of 200,000 to 300,000 tons of fluorite, mainly supplying the Asian market. As a new high-quality fluorite producing area globally, Australia will form a diversified supply pattern with Mongolia and South Africa. It further enriches China’s fluorite import channels, effectively curbs international price fluctuations, and greatly improves the bargaining power and supply chain risk resistance of domestic fluorite trading and processing enterprises.
