Leading Fluorine Chemical Enterprises Increase Stockpiles, New Energy Acts as Long-Term Pillar for Demand
While demand for traditional refrigerants remains weak, new energy materials including lithium hexafluorophosphate and PVDF have seen a year-on-year demand growth of 15% to 20%, driving an annual increase of about 30,000 tons in fluorite consumption. Major integrated fluorine chemical enterprises ramped up stockpiling in May and signed long-term supply agreements for fluorite from Mongolia and Mexico to hedge against price fluctuations. It is predicted that global fluorite demand will grow at an annual rate of 6% to 8% from 2026 to 2028, and premium acid-grade fluorite will maintain a sustained price premium.
